Self-Help Housing Of East Texas Was Incorporated January 2003after Several Years Of Hard Work And Research By The Board Of Directors. The Goal Of Self-Help Housing Of East Texas Is To Increase The Supply Of Safe, Sanitary, And Affordable Homes To Low-Income Families In Deep East Texas. The Twelve Counties Served Have Some Of The Highest Unemployment And Lowest Income Levels In Texas. Housing Stock Is Generally Of Low Quality And Aging. Self-Help Housing Of East Texas Provides Informational Services To The Community As Well As Technical Support To Low Income Families To Fulfill Their Dream Of Homeownership.
