Settlement Housing Fund Aims To Create New And Preserve Existing Affordable Housing For New York City Residents, A Need That Is As Great, If Not Greater Than Ever. Recent Research Shows That By Each Of The Three Standard Measurements--Availablility, Affordability And Housing Adequacy--The City's Affordable Housing Gap Has Been Widening. Settlement Houisng Fund Has Proven Over Its 36 Year History Its Ability To Help Fill This Gap, For All New Yorkers That Need Affordable Housing. Since Our Establishment In 1969, We Have Created Affordable Housing For About 25,000 City Residents, And We Are In The Process Of Adding Safe And Appropriate Apartments For Another 3,000. We Can And Will Continue "To Stay The Course". We Have Used Virtually Every Government Program And Conventional Financing To Develop 8,600 Apartments, Through Moderate And Substantial Rehabilitation And New Construction. With Other Nonprofit Organizations, As Well As Private Developers, Settlement Housing Fund Has Consulted On Programs Involving Low Income Families And Individuals That Include The Elderly, The Handicapped And The Homeless. We Have Completed Numerous Policy Studies Over Our Long History And Initiated Programs Throughout New York. Beginning In 1990, Settlement Housing Fund Became Long-Term Owners Of Affordable Rental Housing, And We Currently Maintain 1,360 Completed Apartments In Decent And Safe Condition.

Settlement Housing Fund works closely with community partners to provide low- and moderate-income New Yorkers with pathways to long-term affordable housing, education, employment and wellness.
