Hls Seeks To Provide Equal Access To The Legal System For All Individuals. Founded In 1968, We Are Located In The Central Harlem Area Of Nyc. Our Clients Are Residents Of The Densly Populated, Central Harlem, Inwood And Washington Heights Communities, With Very Large Immigrant Populations. 90% Of Our Clients Receive Some Sort Of Public/Government Assistance - Food Stamps, Welfare, Social Security And Ssi. The Incidence Of Domestic Violence Against The Women Of These Communities Has Risen So Dramatically, That We Are Hard Pressed To Handle The Demands Placed Upon Us. We Provide Representation And Advice To People Living With Hiv And Aids.
