Episcopal Housing Ministry, Inc. (Ehm) Was Founded In 1991 By A Small Group Of Parishioners At St. Michael's Episcopal Church To Address The Housing Needs Of Low-Income Families In The Greater Raleigh Area. As Of The 1990 Census, 80% Of All Renter Households In Wake County Whose Income Was Less Than 50% Of Median Either Lived In Substandard Housing Or Paid More Than 30% Of Their Income For Renter Costs, Or Both. The Specific Goals Of Ehm Are To Construct And/Or Renovate Services-Enriched, Multi-Family And Single Family Rental Housing, Single Family Ownership Housing, Housing For The Elderly, And Housing For The Indigent And Homeless, Including Single Room Housing.
