The Rosebrook Foundation, Founded In 1992, Grew Out Of The Need To Address The Problems Faced By "At-Risk" And Disadvantaged Youth With Programs Which Would Provide Healthy Alternatives To Drugs, Guns, Gang Violence And Street Crimes, And To Address The Need For A Comprehensive Life Skills And Vocational Career Skills Training Program That Would Ready Teens Transitioning Out Of The Foster Care System Into Responsible And Productive Independent Adult Living. The Rosebrook Foundation Used Horses And Horsemanship Programs In A "Real" Ranch Environment To Reach These "At-Risk" Youth. The Horses For Youth Program, A Weekend And Vacation Camp Program That Gave 12 To 17 Year Olds The Opportunity To Experience A Real Ranch, To Learn About And Work With Horses, And To Learn To Ride - Pointed The Way To The Need For A Program For Teens Emancipating From The Dependent Care System. The Giftt Project Now Prepares 18 To 25 Year Olds In 12 To 24 Month Basic Life Skills And Vocational Career Skills Training For Successful Independent Adult Living. The Goal Of The Rosebrook Foundation Is To Give These Teens The Tools They Need To Make Informed Life Choices That Will Result In Positive Consequences Which Will In Turn Empower These Kids And Lead Them To Success And Happiness In Life.
